East London Printmakers

Maker Mile Open Studio

On Monday 21st September, East London Printmakers hosted a very successful Open Workshop in conjunction with the Maker Mile and London Design Festival.

The event attracted roughly around 100 new faces to the  ELP studio, all of which where making their way along the mile, stoping in at many other Open Workshop Studios. These included FabPub, Codasign, BikeWorks CIC, Lime wharf, Machines Room, Open Desk, takram at Space, Technology Will Save Us, The Carpentry Club, The Craft Cocktail Club and V & A Museum of Childhood.

At East London Printmakers, we decided to give people a taste of what we do best. This workshop was not only a treat for our visitors, but for our ELP Team too!

We spent the evening playing around with a whole range of new and exciting screen printing inks. Helen mesmerised everyone with her Thermochromic inks, which when warmed up change colour. Jo and Imogen transported everyone back to their childhood with Glow in the Dark inks and Susan made everyone feel like a kid again with a blend of Puff Inks. This truly was a workshop of wonders.

A big thank you to all the organisers at Open Desk for making this Maker Mile event happen.
