Kat Flint

Kat Flint is a linocut printmaker and musician from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland. Inspired by a childhood spent shuttling between the bustling harbour city and the wild countryside beyond, with its standing stones and tales of giants asleep inside mountains, Kat’s creative roots are firmly bound up in the storytelling tradition. She maintains a particular focus on local identities and the sense of place we build through shared tales and customs. Through intricate, hand-carved linocuts, Kat examines social history, folklore and rural ways of life, including once-common skills that are slowly being lost to time. She experiments with texture and tension through controlled mark making, creating dense, tightly-woven designs that pull the viewer into the stories she carves. In recent years, Kat has been commissioned to produce linocut illustrations for book publishers, beloved authors, cult bands and indie clothing brands alongside her personal work, and she has exhibited across the UK and beyond, alongside some of the UK’s best contemporary printmakers. She was the recipient of the 2026 East London Printmakers Prize at the Ironbridge International Print Competition. Since launching her print studio in 2018, Kat’s prints have found homes on thousands of walls around the world. She now lives and works in South East London, with a base in Peckham’s renowned creative hub The Bussey Building.
