C E Johnson

C E Johnson earned a BFA from Washington State University concluding with a year at Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan where she studied "katazome", a traditional stencil dying technique. Her art expresses itself in abstract designs that comprise layer upon layer of colour to capture depth and breadth She experiments obsessively with the juxtaposition of contrasting and clashing colours. She combines several printing techniques such as dryoint and linocut in an effort to make a small 2D format appear 3D creating the appearance of great space and depth. Her work has been shown in both solo and group shows in the US, UK and Japan.
