Hilary Powell

Hilary Powell makes work that moves across media and demolition sites and in and out of scrap yards and academia. The culmination of her recent AHRC Fellowship in the Creative and Performing Arts with the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL was a public production line of a pop-up book A-Z employing apprentices to create a theatre of making that resulted in a ltd edition book now collected by V&A, Poetry Library and MoMA Library and represented by Kaleid Editions.  Alongside the residency at ELP she is currently Leverhulme Artist in Residence in UCL Chemistry experimenting with urban alchemy putting reclaimed industrial materials to use by reimagining traditional print techniques and plotting another theatrical space of making and materials.
