Anne Krinsky

Anne Krinsky is a painter and printmaker who also makes installations. Her layered acrylic abstractions reference the geometry of place on three continents. Their sources include Gloucester, Massachusetts, where she was the Goetemann Artist-in-Residence, the vernacular architecture of Tunisia and the Thames riverside in southeast London, where her current studio is located.

Anne’s interest in printmaking is in the variation, not the edition. Her 2013 Edible Colour monoprints are printed with soy-oil based AKUA inks from laser-cut plastic plates. She reconfigures and overprints the component parts, colours and a range of inked surfaces to generate deviations from the grid.

Shelf Life, Anne’s evolving site-specific installation about books and archived materials, has been exhibited in library, museum and university settings. Displayed on minimal white shelves, Shelf Life is comprised of intimately scaled painted and printed panels, whose imagery derives from books and artefacts in the collection of the exhibition venue.
