Artist Statement
Ann Norfield is a London based artist who exhibits locally and abroad in a variety of venues. Following her MA in Fine Art Printmaking at Camberwell in 2003 she helped to set up the current East London Printmakers Studio. Her book Etching – an artist’s guide, was published by Crowood Press in 2019.
Happy to engage with a range of materials and processes, Ann uses imagery to bring the lost and forgotten back into a physical world. Homelessness, discarded belongings, abandoned buildings and ignored communities all feature in her work.
Also a long-term teacher (PGCE 1984) she currently runs printmaking courses and tutors 1-2-1 sessions at East London Printmakers. Her work is held in collections at University of Leicester, the Museum of Fairy Tales and Grimm’s Museum Germany.
