Judith Symons

The image presented here is a reduction lino. Its a picture of two small statues in the consulting room at Freud's house in Hampstead, London. They are striking for their lack of useful limbs. I made six, each different to the other, which is typical of my approach to printmaking, as it offers the unique opportunity to make variations, to walk around inside the image before it gets abandoned. In this case, I particularly relished making and using dark colours and revealing the layers underneath.
