East London Printmakers at Embassy Tea Gallery

For the second year running East London Printmakers is pleased to present its Annual Show at Embassy Tea Gallery, 195 – 205 Union St, SE1 0PB.

The exhibition is open to all members and includes not just a range of styles, but experimental and accomplished work in most print mediums. Members are asked to contribute works made over the past year. It is a chance for fellow studio artists to see each other’s work in its finished state and for visitors to see the wide range of possibilities that printmaking allows. With a recently expanded studio and fantastic new equipment, the range of work this year is even more varied than previous shows.

Submitted works range from the imagined and intricate worlds of Jamie Temple and Belinda Chen, to the more fragmented and graphic cityscapes of Heather Fahy. Other works deal with more abstract forms, such as the colourful gestural drawings of Judith Symons or the linear works of Yann Brien. What these artists have in common is a passion for the possibilities afforded by print.

Kei Imai – Project Keyholder Residency

ELP_kei_A3poster

keiimai-ELP

We are pleased to present an exhibition of new works by Kei Imai.

Kei will be showing a suite of screenprints recently completed during her residency at our studio.
These works, though simple in form, demonstrate a complex experimentation with colour and texture. They are exciting in the ways that they fully exploit the potentialities offered by the screenprinting process. Based on architectural shapes of industrial areas, these prints are firmly grounded in the area in which they were produced. Their fragility and impermanence reflects the rapidly changing landscape of Hackney’s industrial past.

Join us on Thursday 20th August from 6pm – 9pm to support emerging creative talent.
